All the employees and partners of CARACTÈRES ET CÆTERA have been chosen over the years for their linguistic and professional talents, their ability to react quickly and their motivation, whether they be translators, language teachers, interpreters or project managers, all with excellent teamworking skills. This group of language professionals, complemented by a wide variety of additional skills, is made up of:
Claire Alexandre: German - English - French Translator. Claire trained at the University of Rennes 2 (France), and recently joined CARACTÈRES, bringing her considerable knowledge of glossary management and translation memories.
Caroline Durand: Senior Translator. Caroline trained at the Université de Mayence (Germany) and worked as a translator in the USA, Germany and France, holding a variety of posts before becoming Technical Director of CARACTÈRES. She is responsible for the recruitment of translators and quality assurance of our work.
Luis Alberto Faez: Graphic Designer. A graduate of the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina), Luis manages PC and Mac file formats, character fonts and graphics charts for the page makeup of all kinds of documents in around fifty languages. He also runs our Buenos Aires office.
Nathalie Littoz: After a career in various fields, including law, IT, educational engineering and graphics, Nathalie became manager of the CARACTERES-ALP agency in July 2007.
Philippe Guyon: A graduate of the Paris School of Business Management (France), Philippe worked outside France for fifteen years, mainly in the Netherlands. As General Manager of CARACTÈRES, he applies his legal and macro-economic skills along with his experience in international business communication .
Sofie De Bruyne completed her studies in 2005 at EHSAL, Brussels (Belgium) where she obtained the Commercial Science and Teaching diplomas. After having worked in the UK, she has now joined our team as project manager for the branch in Amsterdam, Vertaald. She speaks Dutch/Flemish, English and French.
Mareike Lahaie: Mareike is a German translator who joined CARACTERES in 2005, with diplomas from the Buhmann School of Economics in Hanover and the Düsseldorf Chamber of Commerce and Industry. She also works as a project manager for our German clients.
Cristina López: A graduate in English and French of the University Pontificia Comillas of Madrid (Spain), Cristina joined CARACTÈRES as a translator in 2002. She is also responsible for coordinating and proofreading translation projects.
Marie Kuhn-Osius: A native New Yorker, Marie spent part of her youth in Germany and is bilingual in English and German. She joins Caractères after having studied French at Beloit College (USA). As a person with multiple disabilities she is especially interested in the ways in which people deal with otherness/difference.
Brechtje Mol: A graduate of the University of Maastricht (Netherlands), Brechtje speaks 4 languages, enabling her to translate and proofread a wide range of documents in Dutch. She is also responsible for a number of foreign clients and runs our Amsterdam office.
Monika Morlock: Senior German Translator. Monika is a graduate of the Genebach School of Translation (Germany), and specializes in translating technical documents.
Adrian Morfee: An English translator having studied and taught at Oxford University (GB), Adrian has been teaching translation at the university in Rennes for several years. He also runs our London office - THE WORD COMPANY.
Qing Song comes from Wuhan in China where she graduated as an engineer before starting her career. She has a Master's degree from the University of Brandenburg (In Cottbus, Germany) as well as a Master's in Business Adminstration from the University of Nantes.She joined Caractères in 2007 to oversee and proofread projects in both traditional and simplified Chinese.
Vincent Renard: A graduate of the Language Department of the University of Le Mans (France), Vincent began his career in the United Kingdom before joining forces with some other European translators. He created CARACTÈRES in 2000, and, as company President, is principally responsible for commercial development.
Julia Riggs: Junior American Translator. A graduate of Beloit College (USA), Julia specializes in the artistic and literary fields.
Isa Valenti: Italian Project Manager. A graduate of the School of Interpreting and Translating in Bologna (Italy), Isa joined CARACTÈRES in 2000 as a translator and is today responsible for coordinating a large number of projects.
Francia Vega Maldonado: A French national of Colombian origin now living in Buenos Aires, Francia moved from teaching to translating and now coordinates the work of CARACTÈRES SUD.
Susan Warren: Senior English Translator. A graduate of the University of Birmingham (UK), Susan specializes in the field of tourism, translating and proofreading a wide variety of documents.
Kevin Solan: After years of studio production in the entertainment industry through the several countries he has lived in, this polyglot-technophile set up his independent audio production facility oriented towards multilingual voice services in 1999, before amalgaming with Caractères in 2007 to form VoxAppeal.com.
Lucinda McCormack : Lucinda trained at Heriot-Watt University (UK) before working as a translator in Germany and France. After spending six years in the asset management industry she joined Caractères in 2008 to develop our specialized financial department..
